Job Summary:
The Environmental Manager will provide environmental oversight to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations. This position will play a critical role in development, implementation, sustainment, and compliance with the organization's Environmental Policy and Environmental Management System. Management responsibilities will include the Laboratory.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
Provides environmental guidance through the development and implementation of the company environmental management system.
Provides project assistance for facility and equipment management to ensure compliance.
Performs environmental compliance audits to ensure that facility is in compliance with regulations and current permits.
Collects and forwards to appropriate agency for analysis air, water and other media samples to test levels of chemicals and/or hazardous waste.
Oversees the development of work teams to ensure the efficient and effective accomplishment of regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as the company's goals and objectives.
Ensures that all environmental permits and reporting are completed and up-to-date for the facility. This may include completing the reports and doing the filings personally. This will require staying current on all federal, state, and local regulations, and taking appropriate action when regulations change or new regulations are implemented.
Interface with regulatory agencies and divisional personnel to direct environmental efforts of the facility.
Assess the impact of emerging environmental issues, legislation, and regulations on facility operations, and share potential issues with GM.
Plans, schedules, coordinates, assigns work, establish goals and priorities for subordinate employees.
Delegate responsibility and authority to subordinate staff.
Develops and gives training at the facility on environmental regulations and subjects.
Other Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Develops and/or revises standard operational and working practices to ensure compliance with standards.
Interacts with outside vendors, as necessary, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conducts studies and performs analyses and calculations involving appropriate design, selection, installation and operation of pollution-control equipment, waste and chemical process systems, and remediation.
Develops, implements, and monitors projects and programs ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and permits and the mission, goals, and objectives of the company.
Utilizes company data management systems for environmental programs, such as the chemical management system.
Provides guidance on methods to protect or improve the natural resources of air, land and water to provide a clean and healthful environment.
Performs work planning, designing, constructing, modifying, improving and/or maintaining the facility either by in-house or contractual effort; regulating and enforcing environmental engineering policies, programs or activities by establishing standards, promoting improvements, evaluating compliance and, if necessary, directing action to secure satisfactory results.
Consults with or is a team member of project teams involved in implementing new processes, changes in chemical supplies (solvents, sealants, etc.), or major facility changes.
Investigates or oversees investigations of environmental incidents, such as spills or accidental releases to ensure that a root cause for the incident is identified and an effective corrective action is implemented and maintained.
Investigate, measure and evaluate environmental conditions and carry out relevant research, development, planning, design, advisory and related engineering activities.
Initiate and coordinate all personnel actions for the Laboratory.
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
Minimum five years of environmental engineering experience in essential areas of this job description, with a proven track record.
Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, chemicals, and chemical processes to develop, implement, and regulatory development processes.
Knowledge of regulatory and operational or engineering requirements to assess viability of equipment and process specifications.
Ability to conduct analyses of performance and operational requirements.
Requires knowledge and experience with applicable federal, state and local regulations, particularly Federal NESHAP requirements.
Must have ability to read and comprehend American English.
Must be honest and ethical in all actions.
Must be organized and exhibit attention-to-detail.
Must be self-motivated, capable of prioritizing and working to deadlines.
Must have ability to handle stressful situations
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint

Experience with SharePoint is desired
Experience using a scanner is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
This position will require an employee to work in both a factory and office environment. The site will contain mobility barriers with uneven ground-level and obstructed pathways. Working conditions at the job site will be indoor/outdoor with varying temperatures, and with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. The work environment characteristics described above are representative of what an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
