Quality Inspector

Inspector 1 is to assure consistent quality of production by using good manufacturing practice systems, such as inspecting products and/or documents at various stages of production, to validate processes and provide documentation required to show compliance to the LMI Quality System, while under close supervision.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
Assists in identifying parts deficiencies and helps to prevent further recurrences.
Determining whether the product is acceptable or unacceptable according to work order and customer requirements.
Responsibly handle "stop the job" authority at any stage of process.
Perform sampling inspection.
Perform Adhesion Testing requirements.
Maintain good housekeeping in the inspection areas.
Set up and operation of thickness testing equipment and software ( Posi-Tector and Posi-Tector Software)
Properly use calibrated thickness masters, shims, certified master materials samples, etc.
Verify the job, matching the actual parts with the work order, part number(s), printed and/or electronic pictures and part count.
Access all applicable Prime customer specification requirements on SharePoint site.
Determining that the correct materials and processes have been applied.
Visually inspection of Conversion Coat Class 1a and Class 3
Perform inspection of Anodize Type I, IC, II, III both Class 1 and 2 for visual thickness, when required, per customer specification, inspection conformation (inspection of soft spots), and color-matching.
Perform inspection of Alkaline Clean Type III. Proper color change, absence of smut residue.
Perform inspection of Abrasive Clean to verify absence of heat scale; verify surface roughened to ensure proper organic coating adhesion.
Other Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Entering data into the Work Order Tracking System, including notes and recording data on the work order.
Documenting Nonconforming Material per the Quality System Requirements.
Follow all safety requirements, and enforce compliance.
Work overtime, when required (including weekends), on short notice.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Inspection Lead.
Handle customer-supplied product with care.
Maintain LMI's quality standards to meet and exceed customer expectations
Manages time effectively so that production, quality and delivery schedules are met.
Interacts professionally with co-workers and vendors, understands internal customers, and strives to maintain good relations with others.
Responds quickly to inquiries and follows up, as needed.
Embraces change to ensure overall success of the company.
High School diploma or High School Equivalency required.
Must have ability to read and comprehend American English.
Must have ability to read, interpret, and understand customer drawing, mylars and sketches as applicable to work being performed at LMI.
Must develop a good working knowledge of all internal procedures and customer requirements.
Must develop a good working knowledge of the processes performed in the chemical processing area.
Must exhibit good communication skills when dealing with inspection personnel, on-floor operators and customer service representatives.
Must be flexible, self-driven.
Must become proficient in using the LMI's Work Order Tracking Program, and the LMI Quality System on the SharePoint site.
Must exhibit professionalism when dealing with subordinates and superiors.
Must exhibit ability to troubleshoot and correct problems using problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:
This position will require an employee to work in both a factory and office environment. The site will contain mobility barriers with uneven ground-level and obstructed pathways. Working conditions at the job site will be indoor/outdoor with varying temperatures, and with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. The work environment characteristics described above are representative of what an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
The employee must be able to perform the following physical requirements effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Must have ability to bend, twist and stretch arms above head and walk or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, up to 40 pounds safely.
Must have standard visual acuity (correctable by prescription glasses or contacts meets the requirement) and have the ability to distinguish colors.
Hearing with or without correction is required.
Must have sufficient hand/eye coordination

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
